Karen Clark

Karen Ann Clark, 86, of Storm Lake died Friday, June 28, 2024, at her home.

Funeral services will take place Tuesday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Karen Ann Clark was the second child born to Dorothy and Leo Dimig on June 27, 1938, in Iowa Falls. She was greeted by her sister, Pat. Following her were two brothers, Bob and Bill. Peggy came shortly after her brothers. The family moved to Jefferson, where the children attended school.

On June 14, 1958, Karen married Richard Clark. To this union, four children were born: Melanie, Lesa, Cary and Blake. Cary died at birth.

Karen served as an usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping and her grandchildren. She worked as a babysitter. She was also a secretary for Dr. Morris and Dr. Gurken where she would help prepare the patients for the doctor. Before retiring, Karen worked at Ken-A-Bob and Iowa Central Community College. Karen was a class monitor for all the teachers.

Left to cherish the memory of Karen are Melanie (Robert) Pries of Sioux City; Lesa (Bill) Todd of Storm Lake; Blake (Lori) Clark of Park Rapids, Minn.; grandchildren: Matt (Sylvia) Todd of Storm Lake; Nicole Moninger of Sioux City; Kaleb Clark of Newcastle, Wyo.; Hope (Ridge) Brown of Nevis, Minn.; Alexis (DeAngelo) Davis of Sioux City; great-grandchildren: Brendon Todd, Gunnar Moninger, Dylan Todd and Aaliya Rojas; sisters: Pat Johnson, Bill (Trish) Dimig and Peggy (Johnny) Johnson; sisters-in-law: Rita Clark, Joyce Clark and Bernice Taylor; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband Richard; infant son Carey; parents, Dorothy and Leo Dimig; in-laws, Velma and Grant Clark; brother Bob; brothers-in-law: Richard Johnson, Eugene Clark, Melvin Clark and Duane Clark; Phylis (Kenny) Meyer; nephews: Scott Dimig, Rodney Dimig and Chad Johnson; and several family and in-laws.
