Alta-Aurelia won the nightcap 16-7. The Warriors scored five runs in the fourth, five in the sixth and four in the seventh.

The Warriors (18-6) finished with 12 hits. Reinert led the way with three. Cale Brechwald, Olsen and McCoy all added two apiece.

Brechwald and McCoy each drove in two runs while Brechwald, Reinert, Olsen and McCoy all scored three runs. Sennert and Page each scored twice.

Reinert got the win. He allowed one hit and six runs, only two of which were earned, walked seven and struck out seven in five innings.

Alta-Aurelia committed seven errors in the game.

“This was our first varsity doubleheader of the year and it was a long road trip,” Alta-Aurelia coach Ryan Burkhart said. “I was really happy with how the boys battled and stayed mentally tough to win both games. We are in a stretch of tons of games with very few off days, and finding ways to win every night is a mental challenge by itself. We threw lots of pitchers to get through both games and guys were able to do their job and get outs. We didn’t hit the ball as well as we’d like to, but our baserunning allowed us to steal bases and get into scoring position and manufacture some runs.”
