Alta-Aurelia gets past OABCIG in baseball action

Alta-Aurelia scored two runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth to take control as the Warriors went on to beat OABCIG 6-1 on Wednesday at Ida Grove.

It was 2-0 Warriors after one inning and 4-1 after three.

Alta-Aurelia (16-6) had six hits. Sam Sennert led the way with three while Gavin Sleezer added two and Peyton Meyer one. Sennert, Meyer and Cale Brechwald each drove in a run while Brechwald and Sleezer scored two runs apiece.

Sennert got the win. He allowed four hits and one run, walked four and struck out three in seven innings.

Kingsley-Pierson 11, Sioux Central 1

Landon Howe stymied Sioux Central on one hit and struck out seven as Kingsley-Pierson defeated the Rebels in a nonconference game on Wednesday at Kingsley.

Kingsley-Pierson scored five runs in the third inning and three in the fourth to pull away.

Sioux Central (12-9) had only five base runners in the game — three via a walk.
