Marjorie Mae Anderson, the daughter of Lee and Hattie (Livingston) Lightfoot, was born on Nov. 23, 1929 in Farragut. Marjorie attended grade school at Locust Grove. She graduated from Farragut High School in 1947 and went on to attend business school.

On Feb. 11, 1950, Marjorie was united in marriage to James E. Anderson in Sidney. After a short stint in Colorado, they returned to Tabor, where they raised three children: Barry, Rick and Jeff. Marg was a proud citizen of Tabor for 64 years.

Throughout her career, Marjorie worked as a bookkeeper. The Andersons owned the Tabor Co-Op and Tabor DX service stations where Marge was the bookkeeper and remained integral to the functioning of the family business. She continued to remain involved in the Tabor local business community by managing the books for Jim’s Market and James Grocery where she remained until she retired in 2011.

Marjorie was a long-time member of the Congregational Church of Christ in Tabor. She served as the church’s secretary/treasurer for 20+ years. Marjorie was also active in the American Legion Club, Pythian Sister Sorority (25+ years), JUG Club, CUB Scout Leader and Tabor Youth Organization.

Marjorie was a loyal supporter of her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was lovingly referred to as Marge, Margie, Mom, Grandma and GG.

In her free time, she loved to take family vacations, cook her famous cheeseburgers and cookies, play cards and go bowling.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Barry Anderson of Glendale, Ariz.; Rick (Janet) Anderson of Storm Lake; Jeff (Donna) Anderson of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; grandchildren: Ryan (Claudia) Anderson of Rochester, Minn.; Amy (Geoff) Cudd of Downingtown, Penn.; Tim Anderson of Tampa, Fla.; Trevor (Emily) Anderson of Wildwood, Mo.; Maggie Boyd of Storm Lake; Megan Thompson of Storm Lake; great-grandchildren: Amyah, Cameron and Bennett Boyd; Alex and Nick Anderson; Emma Cudd; Avery, Jake and August Anderson; sister-in-law Mary Lightfoot of Shenandoah; and extended family.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband James E. Anderson; parents Lee and Hattie Lightfoot; sisters: Ruth, Mabel and Lois; brothers: Elmer, Barney and Hap.

Her wit, humor, smile and humble heart was treasured by all who met her and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
