Mary Eddie

Mary A. Eddie, 91, of Storm Lake died Nov. 13, 2023 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place Saturday, Nov. 18, from 6-8 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

On Dec. 19, 1931, Mary Ann Selleck was born to Guy and Serilda (Spencer) Selleck in Storm Lake. Mary attended school at Providence Consolidated School in Sulphur Springs, graduating in 1949.

Mary was united in marriage on May 19, 1957 to Lowell Dean Eddie at the Methodist Church in Storm Lake. They were blessed with four children: Bradley Dean, Michael Todd, Michele Dawn and Stephanie Jo.

Mary was an active member of Church of Christ in Alta. She kept busy with their Women’s Outreach Program, volunteered her time at The Lord’s Cupboard in Alta as well as delivering Meals on Wheels to those in need. Mary was an excellent homemaker, cook and was an amazing seamstress! She enjoyed gardening, playing golf, baking, doing crafts and having coffee with friends. More than anything, Mary treasured time with her family. She was a devoted farm wife who loved to spend her time supporting her husband, children and grandchildren show hogs and play sports. In her later years, she loved to travel domestically and internationally. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish Mary’s memory include her children: Bradley (Molly) Eddie of Storm Lake; Michael Eddie of Storm Lake; Michele Eddie of Kansas City, Kan.; brother James Selleck of Storm Lake; sister Jan Collison of Rockwell City; grandchildren: Ashley (Josh) Fitch of Lansing, Kan.; Alexandra (Alexander) Wilson of Leavenworth, Kan.; Amanda Dalbey of Kansas City, Mo.; Dryden Dalbey of Kansas City, Mo.; Abigail Dalbey of Leavenworth, Kan.; Ben Hinners of Storm Lake; John Eddie of Storm Lake; Sara Eddie of Storm Lake; great-grandchildren: Hazel Ray Fitch, Frances Elizabeth Clementine Wilson and Harrison Dean Fitch; son-in-law John Dalbey of Smithville, Mo.; extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Agnes (Serilda) Selleck; husband Dean Eddie; daughter Stephanie Eddie Dalbey; sisters: Naomi Cox, Maxine Hall and Kay Snyder; brother David Selleck; brothers-in-law: Larry Cox, Larry Hall and John Collison; and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Selleck.
