Ardyce Hanson

Ardyce Hanson, 87, of Aurelia, formerly Newell, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at Accura Healthcare in Aurelia.

Memorial services will take place Friday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Storm Lake. 

Ardyce Kruckman was born March 22, 1937, to William and Effie (Pietsch) Kruckman in Iowa City. She was baptized in 1941 in Little River Valley Lutheran Church in Webb. She later was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City. Ardyce graduated from school in Webb in 1955.

On Sept. 3, 1955, Ardyce was united in marriage to Wayne Hanson in Jackson, Minn. To this union, four children were born: Bryan, Brenda, Brent and Michelle.

Ardyce enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. She loved playing cards and games. You could find her reading cookbooks. More than anything, Ardyce treasured time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ardyce is survived by her children: Bryan (Sandy) Hanson of Lincoln, Neb.; Brenda (Paul) Bjorklund of Newell; Brent (Lori) Hanson of Altoona; Michelle (Trent) Epperson of Chillicothe, Mo.; brother Richard (special friend Phyllis) Kruckman of Primghar; sister Delora Steinkamp of Laurens; grandchildren: Jason (Casey) Bjorklund of Redmond, Ore.; Jeff (Jill) Hanson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Kara (Jon) Shepherd of West Des Moines; Lacey (Shane) Peed of Lincoln, Neb.; Katie (fiancé Chase) Hanson of Mt. Pleasant; Kelli Hanson of Des Moines; Marcella Epperson of Chesterfield, Mo.; Jenna Epperson of Chillicothe, Mo.; Kendra Epperson of Chillicothe, Mo.; great-grandchildren: Greer, Monroe and Meritt Peed; Noah Bjorklund; Mia and Joe Shepherd; Owen and Lily Hanson; extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Effie Kruckman; husband Wayne Hanson; brothers: Dale Kruckman, David Kruckman and Darrell Kruckman.
