Iowan speaks on love and loss at Albert City Library

Posted

Author and speaker Michelle Cowan, a life-long Iowa resident currently of Remsen, will be speaking at Albert City Public Library on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m.

Cowan is co-host of a podcast called From Loss to Light, where individuals who have suffered some form of loss or trauma in life share their story and how they found the light again.

When Michelle’s husband died in a sudden crash, she was forced to figure out how to move forward with a grieving teenage daughter. This would require them to walk a path that was a foreign passageway to most and welcomed by none.   Both would come to experience the brutality of a political system and an industry that levels immeasurable destruction and heartache. At the same time, they would encounter unexpected kindnesses, support and the sheer goodness of others.

Cowan takes us on a journey of love and loss, power and influence, courage and honor, and finally, deep brokenness bringing the chance for a new normal, a time of restoration and living with permission granted.

Cowan will share with library guests how she decided to write her memoir, “Better Not Bitter,” the steps she took and how it has changed her life. She will share about how her faith was challenged, but ultimately grew, and she was able to find forgiveness toward the drunk driver that took her husband’s life.

Please join us for this compelling evening of heartache to healing. All of us have experienced the loss of a loved one at one time or another. Here is a chance to come along side and be renewed, refreshed and re-energized through the life of this strong, brave and courageous presenter.

Cowan will be selling and autographing her book after the show. Mark your calendar and we will hope to see you at Albert City Public Library for this amazing story. Refreshments will be served after the program.
