Hometown author Boyd Zimmer

Storm Lake author and illustrator Boyd Zimmer shared his children’s books at a book signing Saturday, June 15 at the Storm Lake Public Library.

With extremely charming plots and simple drawings, Boyd, who has been working at Lakeshore Cafe for 18.5 years, draws in both kids and adults.

An upcoming book will be about a cardinal that looks over the neighborhood, then flies around the moon. It comes back singing and perches outside the homes of families that have lost a baby. It will be dedicated to “all the little angels in heaven.”
