Tyler Gerald Carey was a caring son, brother, and friend.  After a short illness he left this world suddenly on September 10, 2024, at his residence in Blair, NE, at the age of 28.

Memorial services for Tyler Carey will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.  Pastor Jonathan Riggert will officiate.  There will be no burial.  Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

He was born to Rebecca (Volkert) Carey and Kevin Carey on March 15, 1996, in Cherokee, Iowa. He was an entrepreneur at heart. He had his first paper route at 10 years old.  He attended Blair High School, graduating in 2014. Tyler enjoyed working.  He was a heavy machinery operator working for over 7 years at Valley Corp in Valley, Nebraska.

Tyler was the proud dog dad to Duck. He was passionate about fishing and often indulged in late night trips to the lake.  He loved snowboarding and was talking about a trip to Thailand. He was a generous individual who loved to garden and was skilled at canning. He loved to go shooting.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Rebecca Carey of Omaha, NE and Kevin Carey of Cherokee, IA; his loving siblings, Austin Volkert of Cherokee, IA, Aubree Ann Carey and fiancée Branden Saldecki of Grand Island, NE, and Casey Carey and special friend Quinn Snyder of Omaha, NE, Kyle Carey of Cherokee, IA, and Dakota Carey of Lake Park, IA. Also missing him is his grandfather Ardell Volkert and grandmother Carol Carey, both of Cherokee, IA, along with 10 Aunts and Uncles and 20 cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Theresa Volkert, paternal grandfather, David Carey, and brother Skyler Carey.

His cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by everyone.
