Timothy D. Winkel, 63, of Storm Lake died Friday, May 9, 2025, in Newell.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, May 17, at 10 a.m. at Church of New Beginnings in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Newell Cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday, May 16, from 6-8 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.
Timothy Dean Winkel was born Nov. 11, 1961, to Donald and Frances (Coates) Winkel in Storm Lake. He grew up attending school in Newell.
On July 19, 2014, Tim was united in marriage to Ana in Storm Lake. He welcomed Ana’s two children, Claudia and Efrain.
Tim was an active member of Church of New Beginnings Assembly of God. In his free time, he loved gardening and collecting John Deere toy tractors. He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Tim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tim is survived by his wife Ana Winkel of Storm Lake; mother Frances Winkel of Newell; children: Claudia Mendez and Efrain (Cynthia) Mendez; brothers, Mike (Melissa) Winkel and James (Rhonda) Winkel; grandchildren: Abel and Ivan Mendez; David and Ellie Mendez; sisters-in-law: Margarita, Beatrice, Maria, Mirna and Ana Bell; brothers-in-law, Jaime and Edwin; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his father Don Winkel; and brother Daniel Winkel.
