Shirley Marguerite Kelley, 87, of Storm Lake joined the Lord on Oct. 6, 2025.

Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 13, from 5-7 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Shirley was born in Quimby on April 7, 1937, to parents Lawrence and Clara Harder King. She spent her childhood playing and helping her father on the farm alongside her two sisters. She went on to Wayne State College to get a degree in education, then returned to Aurelia to teach. She met Joseph Kelley at the Cobblestone Ballroom and was married at Mary Hill Church in Quimby on Dec. 29, 1959.

Greeting her in heaven is her loving husband of 50 years, Joseph; her parents, Lawrence and Clara King; and in-laws, George and Helen Kelley.

Shirley is survived by sister Joann Backhaus (Dale) of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sister Judy Carlson (Robert) of Quimby; sons: Mark of Osage Beach, Mo.; David (Shelly) of Lufkin, Texas; Doug (Theresa) of Granger, Wash.; and daughter Angela Siefken (Greg) of Storm Lake; grandchildren: Ashley Goring (Brandon), Meghan Wiliams (Jeremy), Collyn Kelley (Rebecca), Sean Kelley, Ryan Kelley, Andrew Kelley, Logan White, Abby Keller (Dane),  Cailtyn White (William Craig) and Carrie Kern (Tyler); great-grandchildren: Emery and Micah Goring; Andie, Jackson and Macy Williams; Olivia and Noah Keller; Jaden Ballou (Zach); and Lilah Kern; as well as a host nieces and nephews.

Shirley and Joe enjoyed their many vacation trips with their children, visiting their grandchildren, and the many trips that they had through their business.

Shirley also greatly enjoyed her Shaklee business which she grew with her husband Joseph from the ground up. She loved sharing her health journey with others and connecting with people in all walks of life. Through their business they were able to travel extensively in the states and out.

Christ then led her to help establish the Storm Lake SOS store to support St. Mary’s Catholic School. Through this calling Shirley found not only great purpose, but life long friendships that have brought great warmth and laughter to her life. The SOS store has touched many lives and brought more families to a Christ-centered education than Shirley ever expected.
