Michael Roberts, 72, of Clare passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his home.

He was born in Covington, Ky., and grew up in Storm Lake, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for community, humor and a good engine.

A vigil prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. There will be a visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Michael married Tina Ryan in 1976, beginning a partnership filled with love, laughter and mutual sarcasm. Michael had a long and dedicated career with the City of Fort Dodge, working at the water plant until his retirement. Known for his dry, sarcastic wit, he had a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a passion for Corvettes, a deep love for music — especially playing his guitar — and a soft spot for cats. A racing enthusiast, he was a devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr., and in more recent years, he developed a surprising interest in watching golf. One of his favorite pastimes was attending the Knoxville Nationals, where the roar of engines and sense of camaraderie brought him great joy.

Michael is survived by his son Walker; granddaughter Piper; nieces and nephews: Katie, Shannon, Janice, Abe, Adam and Justin; sisters, Georgia and Jackie; and sister-in-law Tammy.

He was preceded in death by his wife Tina; son Tanner; mom Hazel; and in-laws, Don and Yvonne.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
