Marsha Mary Mailliard, 87, died June 19, 2025, in West Des Moines.
Marsha was born in Linn Grove to Mary Vivian (Dorn) and Irving A. Hanson. Marsha was the youngest of six, and loved growing up on Seneca Street in Storm Lake. She was a graduate of Storm Lake High School, and maintained close friendships with her classmates throughout her life.
Marsha was the proud parent of four: Michael (Julie) of Longboat Key, Fla.; Mark of Urbandale; Jennifer Reed (Todd) of Cedar Rapids; and Nancy Mailliard of West Des Moines.
She is fondly remembered by six grandchildren: Amanda Arant (Fran) of Vermont; Veronica Lei (Tao) of California; Matthew Mailliard (Katia) of Florida; Logan Kelly Reed of Davenport; Rachel Reed of Alaska; and Ryan Mailliard of Des Moines. Marsha also was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Zoe, Jonathon, Felix, Rosemary, Jeanette and Ivy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Ron, Graydon, John, Judy and Karen; in-laws, Dr. Robert E. and Alice Mailliard; stepmother Gladys Hanson; and former husband, Dr. Robert H. Mailliard.
Marsha loved her family, friends and playing the card game Bridge. She faced life’s challenges with grace and courage.
Funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1627 Grand Ave., West Des Moines, on Thursday, July 24, at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service and internment will take place at Storm Lake St. Mary's Cemetery on Friday, July 25, at 11 a.m.
