James “Jimmy” Stephen McKenna, 40, of Sac City passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones.
Jimmy was born on March 14, 1985, in Storm Lake. He grew up working on the family farm and was active in 4-H. Jimmy graduated from Storm Lake St. Mary’s High School in 2004. He loved spending all his time outside and was an avid hunter. Jimmy was diagnosed with brain cancer on May 16, 2024, and fought this battle for 12 months until this terminal cancer took his life.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Moriah, and cherished daughter, Geneviève McKenna; his parents, his sisters and their families, along with aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 31, at the South Park Shelter House in Sac City, starting at 5 p.m. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Sac City has been entrusted to care for Jimmy and his family.
