We are sad to announce the passing of Janice Reyes. She has slipped away for a moment to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. We will look forward to being with her again in paradise. She was 83 years old, born on Jan. 7, 1941, in Des Moines, to Bruno and Mary Fontinini Demsky.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fred Reyes of Storm Lake; her son Scott Reyes (Kim) of Midlothian, Va.; sons: Josh, Caleb and Jake. Lisa Reyes Trease (Scott) of Morehead City, N.C., Joe, Kelli, Mary and Elisabeth. Shelly Reyes of Raleigh, N.C. Peter Reyes (Julie) of Ooltewah, Tenn., Boston, Taylor, and Emily. Amy Reyes Curto (Michael) of Bronxville, N.Y., Spencer, Sophia, Matthew, John and Ava. Brothers: Bruce Demsky of Decorah; and Brian Demsky of Des Moines.
Jan enjoyed working outside, planting flowers, crossword puzzles and enjoying the company of her friends and family. She was a member of Storm Lake Independent Baptist Church and was the secretary and office manager for Reyes Hearing Aid Service and lived in Storm Lake for 55 years.
She met her husband Fred while buying a set of tires at Firestone where he worked, they have gone a long way on those four tires, 63 years of marriage.
Private family services will be held at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in her honor.
