Donald Meyer

Donald William Meyer, 82, of Storm Lake died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Holstein.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial was in the church cemetery. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake was in charge of the arrangements.

Don Meyer was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Storm Lake. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Church in Storm Lake. He was baptized, confirmed and married there. Don spent his childhood years on a farm near Storm Lake. He attended St. Mary’s School and graduated with the class of 1960.

On June 23, 1973, Don married Yvonne at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake. He was a loving and devoted husband and father who cherished the time he spent with his family.

Don enlisted in the Army and served his time. After returning home from the Army, Don farmed with his father. Later, Don started driving trucks for Schuster and drove for them until his retirement.

In his free time, Don loved to play golf and had the greatest group of friends that he and Yvonne spent a lot of time with. He was a big Hawkeyes basketball and football fan. Don was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.

Don is survived by his son Kerry Ryan; daughter Tami Dean; son-in-law Mike Roberts; grandchildren: Shannon Dean, Adam Dean and Walker Roberts; great-grandchildren: Treyvon Bailey, Maddox Dean and Harley Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Yvonne Meyer; and son Michael Ryan.
