Display by Micronesian artist at BVRMC

Posted

Artwork by Lissette Yamase, a self-taught artist from Chuuk and Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia, is on display at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center. Although she lives in the FSM, she spent parts of her childhood in Saipan and was born in the Republic of Palau.

Through contacts in the Storm Lake Micronesian community, Lissette’s work was shipped to BVRMC. Her pieces are for sale.

Lissette creates artwork in the hopes of preserving and celebrating the profound stories, cultures and values of the islands that she calls home.
