David Aronson

David Aronson, 77, of Albert City passed away on April 12, 2025 at his home.

Memorial services will take place Wednesday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements. 

David was born in Laurens to Mary and Carl Axel “Oliver” Aronson on Dec. 30, 1947. He lived in Albert City his entire life. David was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City, where he remained a lifelong member.

David served his country in the Vietnam War from 1969 until 1970 with the First Cavalry Division. He talked about his experiences to others and was a member of VVA, Albert City Legion Post 299 and Laurens VFW.

On Feb. 11, 1973, David married Sharlotte Bruce. To this union three children were born: Nathan, Ross and Greta.

David worked at Hakes in Laurens for several years and later did construction work until he retired. He enjoyed time with the guys playing slow pitch softball. He also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, wood and craft projects, reading and crossword puzzles. David and his wife traveled to see the Freedom Rocks in Iowa. They have 18 left to view.

David will be remembered by his wife Sharlotte Aronson; children: Nathan (Holly) Aronson, Ross (Lequitta) Aronson and Greta (Chris) Ainsworth; siblings: Sam Aronson, Paul Aronson, James (Reatha) Aronson, Laura (Rod) Morgan and Tim (Kim) Aronson; grandchildren, Lucy and Cora Ainsworth; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Oliver Aronson; parents-in-law, Eleanor and Kenneth Bruce; sister-in-law Shirley Scott; brother-in-law Doug Scott; and nephews, Kevin and Brian Scott.
