The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. with the Albert City SummerFest Car Show at Freedom Park on Main Street. All vehicles are welcome. Food will be available provided by Valero for a free-will donation. A movie will be shown at dusk. Head to Alison’s Kitchen for live music by Scott Kirkhart from 8-11 p.m., sponsored by Flanigan Tree Service.
Saturday’s events begin at 8 a.m. with a 5K with the Kids Run to follow.
Throughout the day food trucks will be open, there will be hair decorating at Midsummer Floral, a balloon artist at the library, sidewalk chalk drawing and corn pile digging for money.
At 10:30 a.m. the parade begins with the ping pong drop to follow, along with the pedal pull in front of Farm Bureau.
The Albert City Museum will be open for tours. Free swimming will begin at noon. Head to the Albert City Fire Department for water fights from 1-4 p.m. Adult cornhole registration starts at 3:30 p.m. with play at 4 p.m. A dance will be held from 8-11 p.m. with live music by Brad Morgan at the city building. Cover charge is $10. A beer garden and food will be available.
