Charles Galvin Jr., beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and friend, was born April 4, 1927, to Charles and Lillian (Wunschel) Galvin on a farm south of Quimby. He graduated from Aurelia High School with the Class of 1946. After graduation he worked as a hired man before starting farming on his own, south of Aurelia. He enjoyed all aspects of farming and saw many changes.

On June 8, 1947, he was united in marriage with Tena Mae Fox at Aurelia United Methodist Church. Charles and Tena Mae were blessed with four children: Mike, Cindy, Jack and Ted.

In 1983, after many years of farm life, Charles and Tena Mae semi-retired and moved to their house in Aurelia. Charles continued to make daily trips to the farm to help out and later supervise. Even in his 90s he rode the combine at harvest time! He enjoyed visits from the grandkids and great-grandkids. He always had a story to tell them. He and Tena Mae also enjoyed many bus trips across the U.S. and made many friends. They also traveled to Missouri to see relatives. He was faithful about attending the annual Galvin picnics and Christmases. They were eager to join their Pinochle club for a game of cards and visits. Charles checked out Facebook daily, played solitaire or listened to music on the computer. He commented many times about how things had changed in his life time.

Charles left his earthly home on May 26, 2024, at WEL-Life in Alta, after just reaching his 97th birthday.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife Tena Mae on Nov. 8, 2016; parents; brothers: Paul, Don and Larry; sisters: Alice Peterson, Betty Erickson, Deloris Brisbois and Jean Neville; and parents-in-law, Clyde and Geneva Fox.
