Alta-Aurelia girls start fast in win over St. Mary’s

Lily Peterson finished with 16 points to lead three players in double figures, and Alta-Aurelia scored 17 points in the first quarter as they defeated Twin Lakes Conference rival Storm Lake St. Mary’s 55-18 last Friday at St. Mary’s.

Alta-Aurelia jumped out to a 17-7 lead after the first quarter. It was 28-9 at halftime and 44-16 after three periods.

Erin Lockin scored 13 points for the Warriors, now  2-2 overall. Mary Barnes added 12, while Grace DePuma and Sydney Stanton each had six. Alaina Westphal tallied two points.
