Little Sioux River Archaeology Day

The Little Sioux River has more than 200 known archaeological sites along its banks. The Northwest Chapter of the Iowa Archaeological Society (IAS) has been helping identify these sites since 1952. Today, the Northwest Chapter of IAS still meets once a month at the Sanford Museum and Planetarium in Cherokee for educational meetings and archaeological field trips.
