Sioux Central struggled for offense for the first six innings, but when the bats came alive, the Rebels’ base running cost them a potential game-winning rally.

Blanked on three hits and facing a three-run deficit through the first six innings, Sioux Central strung three hits together in the seventh but had a runner thrown out at third base and another runner doubled off first base to kill the rally as Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire hung on for a 3-1 upset win in a Class 1A district quarterfinal game on Tuesday at Fonda.
