William Rench

William Douglas Rench, 59, of Sac City, passed away on July 4, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Bill was born on Jan. 23, 1958, in Sac City to DeLoss and Melvina (Knox) Rench. He attended grade school in Sac City and he graduated from Sac City High school. 

Bill was united in marriage to Barb Mayo on Sept. 2, 1977, in Sac City where they made their home and raised their two daughters, Natalie and Abigail. He owned a salvage yard and drove truck. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and grandson, watching movies and listening to music. He collected and enjoyed working on cars. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Bill is survived by his wife Barb of Sac City; daughters, Natalie Simon of Sac City and Abigail (Mike) Zechmeister of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandson, Arion Simon of Sac City; brothers, Danny (Pat) Rench of South Dakota; Jerry (Linda) Rench of Texas; Tom (Jennifer) Rench of Omaha, Neb.; Donnie (Joni) Rench of Norwalk; sisters, Jane (Dave) Bennett of Sac City; Kathy Martin of Sac City; and Marilyn Geery of Sac City; parents-in-law, Sharon and Doris Mayo of Sac City; sister-in-law, Sandy (Scott) Bonner of Des Moines; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, DeLoss and Melvina Rench; brother DeLoss Rench; son Jacob Rench; grand-daughter Zoey Clover Simon; nephew Adam Martin; brothers-in-law: Gene Martin, Doug Geery and Kerry Mayo. 

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, July 8, at First Presbyterian Church in Sac City. Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Sac City was in charge of the arrangements.
