Schools expand mental services

Turner says problems are growing


The Storm Lake School Board authorized hiring a behavioral strategist Wednesday to provide one-on-one counseling with troubled students and drafting a comprehensive approach to handling students with mental problems.

Superintendent Carl Turner told the board the number of students suffering from severe mental health problems has ballooned during his six-year tenure in Storm Lake.
