Scott A. Jackson, 54, of Albert Lea, Minn., formerly of Storm Lake, died April 7, 2017 in Albert Lea.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 22, at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Scott A. Jackson was born Oct. 6, 1962 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lyle and Barbara (Hegna) Jackson.
In his youth, he was baptized in Cedar Rapids. He was later confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.
Scott attended grade school at South School in Storm Lake and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1981. He continued his education at Iowa State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree.
Scott worked as a computer programmer for many years. Outside of his career, he enjoyed fishing, writing and collecting DVDs. Most of all, Scott loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Lyle M. and Barbara (Hegna) Jackson; brothers, Mark A. Jackson of Storm Lake; Brian (Wendy) Jackson of Sioux City; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents: Leonard and Ida Jackson; Art and Inez Hegna.
